All SCALI conferences and seminars are open to SCALI members and non-members, It is of interest to all private investigators, law enforcement personnel, insurance investigators, attorneys and paralegals. The subject matter deals with the discussions of investigative techniques from the practical, legal, innovative and technical standpoint of today's investigator be it in the private sector or law enforcement. It is a "must attend" seminar for the SC investigator to obtain the necessary credits for SC PI license renewals.

9:00 am WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION TO PRIVATE INVESTIGATING
David B. Mac Dougall has owned and operated Information Services in Columbia since 1979. He specializes in criminal defense, death penalty defense, insurance fraud and witness locating. Dave has studied and written extensively on the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act.

10:00 am RUNNING A PRIVATE INVESTIGATIVE AGENCY and HOW TO SERVE PROCESS
Ed Fewell worked in Collection Enforcement for the S.C. Department of Revenue prior to becoming a Private Investigator in 1988. He owns and operates Ed Fewell & Associates in Rock Hill, South Carolina. His agency serves over 5,000 papers a year.

11:00 am PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY FOR THE PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR
Robert H. Joseph owns and operates Alpha P.I. Services in Simpsonville, S.C. Bob has been a Private Investigator for thirty years, twenty of them with the Bowen Law Firm in Greenville. Bob, who specializes in personal injury investigations, is the SCALI Founder and former State Director.

Monty Clark owns and operates Clark & Associates Private Investigative Service and has over 30 years Police and Private Investigative experience. Monty has been on the Board of Director's of the North Carolina Association of Private Investigators for the past seven years serving as Vice President; 1996-2000 and President; 2000-2002.

2:00 pm PRIVATE INVESTIGATION LAWS AND REGULATIONS
SLED Regulatory will speak on the law, rules and regulations governing PI’s. They’ll provide valuable insight as to how you can avoid problems with your clients as well as SLED Regulatory.

3:00 pm DEALING WITH YOUR CLIENTS
Bonnie Johnson has been a Private Investigator since 1994 and is a Court Qualified Document Examiner and Graphologist. She and her husband Guy operate Allied Investigative Services in Anderson, South Carolina handling forgery, personal injury and domestic matters. Bonnie is serving her second term as SCALI State Director.

 4:00 pm QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
This time will be open for a discussion of the Private Investigative field with an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

4:30 pm ELECTRONICS FOR SURVEILLANCE
Don Kneece is an expert in Technical Surveillance Equipment and has taught this subject to over 3,500 police officers and private investigators since retiring form the U.S. Army. Don will present the latest in video and electronic equipment available to the Private Investigator.
